Ardis
Rhea Ellinger, age 90, of Oxford, Wisconsin died Monday,
August 15, 2005 at the Wisconsin Dells Health & Rehab Center
in Wisconsin Dells ,Wisconsin.Funeral services will be
4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2005 at the Oxford Bible
Church in Oxford, Wisconsin. The Rev. Donald Wedel will
officiate. Interment will be at the New Chester Cemetery,
Twp of New Chester, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at Roseberry's
Funeral Home.
Ardis was born April 29, 1915 in Oxford, Wisconsin to
Wallace and Susan (Pierson) McClyman. She married Ronald
Ellinger and had two daughters, Arlene and Arneta. Ronald
and Ardis were divorced in 1950. Ardis worked for many years
as a cook at the Brooks Grade School, until she retired to
take care of her elderly parents.
Ardis was a member of the Brooks Congregational Church
Ladies Aid, New Chester Church, the Brooks Card Club, and
the Brooks Homemakers. She enjoyed playing cards, especially
500 and crazy eights with friends and relatives that would
stop in for a game around the dining room table. Her
grandchildren were especially fond of their grandmother’s
peanut butter cookies and pie making skills.
Ardis is preceded in death by her parents and daughter,
Arneta.
