Stephen
Hilliary Russo, age 83, of Friendship, Wisconsin died
Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at the Villa Pines Living Center
in Friendship, Wisconsin. Memorial
services will be 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2005
at the Adams VFW Post in Adams, Wisconsin. Military rites
will be offered by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the Adams
American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand Marsh
American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273.
Stephen was born January 14, 1922 in
Kenosha, Wisconsin to Salvatore and Lottie Russo. He
attended school in Kenosha. He was President of Caster
Carburetor Service Club, and owner of Russo Dolan Auto
Service of Kenosha, Russo’s Service Station in Racine, and
Lathrop Auto Sales, Racine. Retiring from Lathrop Auto Sales
in 1983. He moved to Arkdale, WI in 1985 where he enjoyed
hunting and fishing. Stephen served as a medic in the 35th
Infantry Division in World War II. He was among the soldiers
that landed on D Day at Normandy Beach. He was a
member of Adams VFW Post 6279 serving as Post Quarter Master
for 5 years, Life Member and Member of the American Legion
Red Cloud Post 250, and a member of the firing squad, as
well as a member of the Telephone Pioneers of
America.
He was married to Marjory Olson on October
25, 1968 in Sheridan, WY.
