Betty J. Miller, 75, Wonewoc, died February 7, 2005 in her home following a long battle with cancer. The daughter of Archie and Olive (Garber) Carpenter, she was born September 18,1929, in Vernon County. She was united in marriage to Reuben W. Miller October 18, 1947, in Hillsboro, WI. Following their marriage they lived in the Wonewoc area. Later they moved to Baraboo, WI and then returned to their present home outside of Wonewoc where they farmed.

Survivors include: husband, Reuben W. Miller of Wonewoc; son, Larry (Colleen) Miller of Mauston; daughter, Jill (Daniel) Statz of Reedsburg; brother, Charles (Audrey) Carpenter of LaValle; sister, Joyce (Fred) Miller of Baraboo; granddaughter, Dawn (Keith) Luke and great granddaughter Makala Luke of Mauston and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Olive (Garber) Carpenter; an infant brother Archie Jr., an infant sister, Mary Lou, and sister Florence (Lloyd) Brooks, a brother-in-law Fred Miller and an infant grandson Jeremy Miller.

The family especially appreciated all the wonderful help from the Home Health United staff, family and friends. Roseberry’s Funeral home in Friendship, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial services will be held at the Mauston Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, N3540 Hwy 58, south of Mauston, WI on Saturday, February 12, 2005. The visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. with the funeral service at 3 p.m. All friends of the family are invited.
