Charles Andrew Riley, age 86, of Oxford, Wisconsin died January 23, 2005 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tomah, Wisconsin.

Private Memorial services will be held at a later date. Internment will be at the Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Wisconsin.

Charles was born July 05, 1918 in Oxford, Wisconsin to James and Laura (Hessler) Riley. He grew up and graduated from Oxford High School. Charles was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps 54th Squadron. He was stationed in Aleutian Islands in the Pacific Theater of War. He married Hazel Warnke July 16, 1945 in Selna, CA. This marriage was blessed with two children before ending in divorce. Charles owned and operated the Riley Service Drug Store in Oxford, WI, beginning in 1946 for over 30 years. He also worked for 15 years before retiring from the Speed Queen in Ripon, WI.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister (Anna Lu).

Son: James (Mary Beth) Riley- Madison, Wisconsin

Daughter: Kathy (Jerry) Shoemaker- Fredonia, Wisconsin

Grandchildren:

Jeff (Lynn) Riley à (Great-Grandchildren) Logan and Jackson

Jennifer (Joshua) Evans à (Great-Grandchildren) Quincy and Pierce

Tricia Shoemaker and Katie Shoemaker

Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Special Thank you to Roberta and Tom Roos, and a special nurse, Cheryl Matteson, of the Tomah VA, who took such good care of Charles and whose friendship he cherished.
