ALMA
LOUISE CAROLINE BUCHANAN, age 96 of Friendship, Wisconsin
died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at the Villa Pines Living
Center following a long illness.Funeral services will be
11:30 am, Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Chapel of the
Pines at Pinelawn Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The
Pastor Larry Hauser will officiate. Interment will be in the
Pinelawn Cemetery.
Alma was born on May 8, 1908 to Julius and Paulina (Kietzman)
Wargowsky in the Town of Quincy, Adams County, WI. She moved
to Milwaukee in 1920’s. Alma married the late John Bauer on
March 31, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI. Alma then married Wallace
Buchanan in December of 1961 in Rocksprings, WI. He also
preceded her in death. Alma owned and operated a grocery
store in Rocksprings. Alma retired in 1968 and moved to
Tucson, AZ, she moved back to WI in 1980. Alma enjoyed
playing cards, bingo, sewing, crocheting, embroidery,
cooking, baking, socializing, and traveling.
Alma was a member of the Eastern Stars, Homemakers, and
very active at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adams.
Alma is preceded in death by her parents; 1st
husband (John); 2nd husband (Wallace); half
brothers (William and Henry Wargowsky); brothers (Frank,
Paul, Fred, and Twin brother, Alfred); and two sisters (Hulda
Stoll and Anna Flossman).
