Gary Elgin Kloss, age 56, of
South Range, WI (formerly of Oxford, WI) passed away Friday
March 4, 2005 at St. Mary's Medical Center Hospice, Duluth,
Minn, His loving family was present.Gary was born June 1,
1948 in Wild Rose, Wis., to Elgin and Geraldine (Weishaar)
Kloss, He loved fishing from the time he was a young boy. He
also enjoyed hunting and time spent with his three sons
teaching them these sports.
He married Barbara "Bobbi" Nelson on April 28, 1973 in
Minneapolis, Minn. They made their home in Oxford, Wis.
until October 1976 when they moved to Superior, Wis. Gary
worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad until the
company was purchased by the Union Pacific Railroad. His
career spanned 32 years. He attended Westfield High School
and also received Associate Degrees from, WITC-Superior
in management and micro computer specialist.
Gary served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam
War aboard the USS Gunston Hall from 1968-1970.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Bobbi, Superior; sons, Jody (Kendy)
Kloss, Salt Lake City, Utah, Jeffrey (Jenny) Kloss and Peter
Kloss of Superior; grandchildren, Jordyn and Connor Kloss of
Salt Lake City; three step-grandchildren, Kylee, Kaleb, and
Kelsey Adamson of Salt Lake City; sister, Joan (Eddie)
Morgan and, family of Oxford, Wis.; mother-in-law and
father-in-law, Robert and Phyllis Nelson of Crystal, Minn.;
sister-in-law, Wendy Nelson of Maple Grove, Minn;
brothers-in-law, Matt (Nancy) Nelson and family of Champlin,
Minn.; Michael (Jan) Nelson of Garrison, Minn., as well as
aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear neighbors and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2005
at Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden Avenue and, N. 19th
Street, Superior. The funeral service will be 3 p.m.
Tuesday, at the funeral tome, with Reverend Scott Ludford,
pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church officiating.
Locally, visitation will
be held at St. John's
Lutheran Church in Oxford on
Thursday, March 10th, from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. Burial
will follow at the Oxford
Cemetery. Military rites will be offered by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the
Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand
Marsh American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273.
Roseberry’s Funeral Home of Friendship is assisting the
family with the local arrangements.
