Arlys Jean Beaver, age 84, of
Adams (formerly of Bowie, MD), Wisconsin died Tuesday, May
31, 2005 at the Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinic in
Friendship ,Wisconsin following a brief illnessFuneral
services will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at the
Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. The Rev.
Steve Poludniak will officiate. Cremation will follow the
traditional service with final interment at the Mt. Repose
Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be at Roseberry’s on Monday, June 6th
from 4 to 7 p.m.
Arlys was born April 12, 1921 in Dexter, Iowa to Albert
R. and Laura M. (Patty) Cummins. She attended public schools
in Tulsa, OK, Lincoln, NE, and Redfield, IA where she played
basketball and was graduated from high school as the
valedictorian of her class.
She attended Iowa State Teachers College where she
graduated with a two year degree in elementary education in
1940. Arlys taught in the Marion County Public Schools and
Janesville Iowa Public Schools. She then taught a private
school for disabled children Bowie, MD and Bismarck, N.D.
Arlys married Herbert C. Beaver in 1940 and moved to the
farm where they began farming. Sons Robert and Richard were
born while Herb and Arlys were engaged in farming during the
1940’s.
Arlys was an active member of the Awana Club of Bowie,
where she co-authored a program for teaching disabled
children. This program was later adopted by the National
Awana Clubs.
Arlys was a member of the Faith Baptist Churches of
Wilmington, DE; Bowie, MD; and Adams, WI.
Arlys was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Son
(Richard Lee Beaver); Daughter (Jean Louise Beaver); and
Brother (Raymond Albert Cummins).
