Lottie
May Larson, age 89, of Port Wentworth, GA (formerly of
Friendship, WI) went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 4th,
2005 after a courageous battle with cancer at Savannah
Hospice, Savannah, GA. Lottie was born June 9, 1915 in
Leola Township, Adams County to Willis and Mabel (Lord)
Carlton. She graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in
1933 and Wood County Normal School in Wisconsin Rapids in
1934. She taught in a country school near Wisconsin Rapids.
She met and married Reuben Koeshall on December 20, 1936
at Wisconsin Rapids, WI. They had four children: Karolyn,
Darlene, David, and Peggy. David passed away at three years
old. Lottie’s husband died in 1974 and she then married
Robert Larson in 1977. When Lottie and Reuben lived in
Wisconsin Rapids, she served as Sunday School Superintendent
at East Nekoosa Assembly of God. Upon moving to the
farmstead in Leola Township, she was an active Sunday school
teacher, Women’s Ministries member and Vacation Bible School
teacher at Plainfield Assembly of God. She also served as
Clerk for the Leola Township and worked at Gary’s Restaurant
in Bancroft. Upon her marriage to Robert Larson, she moved
to Friendship, WI. Lottie taught Sunday school for many
years and helped Robert at Villa Pines Living Center for 13
years with Sunday Bible classes and singing. Robert Larson
passed away in 2002. Lottie then went to live with her
daughter Karolyn in Port Wentworth ,
GA.
Lottie is survived by three daughters, Karolyn Tompkins,
Port Wentworth, GA; Darlene (Dick) Walkush, Sacramento, CA;
and Peggy (Rick) Buckholt, Hancock, WI; two stepsons, Eugene
(Aileen) Larson, Nekoosa, WI and Edwin (Daryl) Larson,
Carpentersville, IL; one step-daughter Lorraine L. (LaVerne)
Clussman, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; eight grandchildren, Jeff
Tompkins and Doug (Della) Tompkins, both of Port Wentworth,
GA, Terris (Heather) Tompkins of Poland, ME; Dawn (Tim)
Hiller of Amarillo, TX; Rick (Jane) Walkush of Old Hickory,
TN; Kristine Walkush of Sacramento, CA; and Joshua Buckholt
and Melody Buckholt of Hancock, WI; twelve
great-grandchildren, Celeste McCoy, Seattle, WA; Angela
Cleary, Port Wentworth, GA; Ryan Hillbert, Savannah, GA; and
Katie Tompkins, Fayetteville, NC; Gabi Tompkins, Poland, ME;
Cassie Greco, Poland, ME; and Jonathan Tompkins, Clover, SC;
Tim, Joey, and Josh Hiller, Port Wentworth, GA and Miranda
Hiller, Amarillo, TX; Barclay Walkush, Old Hickory, TN; and
seven great- great- grandchildren,
Miranda, Eddie, and Erin McCoy, Seattle, WA; Caleb, Delaney
and Ethan Cleary, Port Wentworth, GA; and Christa Gwinn,
Fayetteville, NC; two sisters, Thelma Zimbeck, Bancroft, WI;
and Helen Olson, Necedah, WI; two sister-in-laws, Belva
Carlton, Oxford, WI and Violet Carlton, Norco, CA and
numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear
friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Willis Carlton;
her mother Mabel Carlton; her son David Koeshall; her first
husband, Reuben Koeshall; her brothers Freddie Carlton and
Bertis Carlton; her brother-in-laws Ken Zimbeck and Clifford
Olson; a sister, Bonnie Carlton; her son-in-law Darrell
Tompkins and her second husband; Robert Larson.
Lottie lived a full life and she will be missed by all
her friends and family whose lives she has touched.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th,
2005 at the Assembly of God Church in Adams. Pastor Entzen
will officiate. Graveside services will follow at Forest
Hill Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Visitation will be held
at the church in Adams on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the
time of service. Roseberry’s Funeral Home of Friendship is
in charge of the arrangements. |
