John M. Steiner, age 85, of Friendship, Wisconsin died May 16, 2005 at the Wisconsin Dells Health & Rehab Center following a long illness.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2005 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Adams, Wisconsin. The Father James P. McNamee will officiate. Interment will be at the Quincy Cemetery, Twp of Quincy, Wisconsin.

Visitation at Roseberry’s from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 19th.

John was born May 20, 1919 in Mauston, Wisconsin to John Joseph Steiner and Minnie A. Wagner.

He married Patricia Taylor on June 09, 1951 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. John owned a nightclub "Town Hall" in Milwaukee during the 1940’s. He and Patricia moved to Adams County in 1954. John owned and operated the first resort on the east side of Castle Rock Lake with his brother Bob Steiner.

John was the past president of the Petenwell and Castle Rock Lake Association and the Adams County Tavern League.

John enjoyed musky fishing and hunting. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

John was preceded in death by his parents and son (John Edward – 1998).

Sister: Jonetta Zukauskis of Mauston, Wisconsin

Grandchild: Lara Steiner of Friendship, Wisconsin

Grandchild: Megan Steiner of Friendship, Wisconsin

Grandchild: Colin Steiner of Friendship, Wisconsin

Grandchild: Michael Steiner of Isle, Minnesota
