Phyllis
Sutherland (nee Baker), age 83, of Nekoosa, Wisconsin passed
away Thursday, October 20th, 2005 at the
Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.Funeral
service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24th,
2005 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home & Crematory in Friendship,
Wisconsin. Rev. Stephen Dietzler will officiate. Interment
will follow at the New Rome Cemetery, Town of Rome, Adams
County, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be at Roseberry’s from 4 to 7 p.m. on
Sunday, October 23rd.
Phyllis was born February 16, 1922 to Hubert and Lydia
Baker in La Crosse, WI. She married Norman Sutherland on
October 18, 1941. She was a loving wife, mother, and
homemaker. Phyllis was a generous and caring woman that
always put her children’s needs before her own, without
complaints. She enjoyed watching her children and
grandchildren play sports and other activities. She loved to
dance, cook, play cards, and listen to her son Norm sing and
play guitar with the Blue Sky Band. She also loved life and
making people laugh.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband
(Norman Sr.); Sisters (Arlene Zellmer, Sally Nelson, Gladys
Newby); Brothers ( Lyle and Leonard Baker); Sisters-in-law
(Ginny and Faye Baker); Brothers-in-law (Henry Schintgen and
Tink Newby) and Son-in-law (Ronald LaMont) and further
preceded by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
