Bruno B. Steponkus, age
86, of King (formerly of White Creek), Wisconsin died
Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home
in King, Wisconsin. Funeral services
will be 11 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2005 at the St.
Ann's Catholic Church in Brooks, Wisconsin. Father Daniel
Kelly will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Calvary
Catholic Cemetery, Twp of New Chester, Adams County,
Wisconsin. Military rites will be offered by the Adams VFW
Post #6279; the Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250;
and the Grand Marsh American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post
#273.
Visitation will be at St. Ann's Catholic
Church on Friday from 10 a.m. to the time of service.
Bruno was born August 27, 1919 in
Waukegan, Illinois to Adam and Aniela (Kantautas) Steponkus.
He graduated from Waukegan High School. Bruno served in the
Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater of War. He married
Rosemary Svoboda on September 7, 1946 in Ottawa, Illinois.
They made their home in Adams County in 1948. Bruno worked
at the Badger Ordinance Plant in Baraboo and assisted with
the construction of Castle Rock Dam. He later worked road
construction and finally as a custodian at the Adams V.F.W.
where he retired.
Bruno enjoyed farming, gardening, the
natural beauty of his backyard, reading, and spending time
with his family and friends.
Bruno was preceded in death by his
parents; Sisters (Maryann Able, Helen Senek, and Sally
Stanley); and Grandson (Gregory McLain).
