Irene
Ruth Bankes, age 86, of Marshfield, Wisconsin died Saturday,
August 19, 2006 at the Three Oaks Nursing Home in
Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August
26, 2006 at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship,
Wisconsin. The Rev. Mark Lafferty will officiate. Interment
will be at the Monroe Center Cemetery, Town of Monroe, Adams
County, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home
from 11 a.m. until time of service.
Irene was born May 1, 1920 in Waseca, Minnesota to
Charles A. Davis and Sadie Olds. She married Floyd O. Hunt
on March 3, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This marriage
was blessed with four children before ending in divorce.
Irene married John H. Bankes on February 12, 1972 in Adams,
Wisconsin.
Irene enjoyed playing bingo, solitaire, crosswords, walks
in the park, family gatherings, and spending time with day
care children and her family.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband (John
– November of 2005); first husband (Floyd Hunt); sisters Vi,
Vera, and Dorothy; brothers Charles, Snuffy, and Mickey;
step-grandson Jimi Gray; and Great-Grandson Scott Allen
Buck.
