Marvin
Lewis Williams, age 74, of Friendship, Wisconsin died
Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Villa Pines Living Center in
Friendship, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3,
2006 at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship,
Wisconsin. The Rev. James Steinbrecher will officiate.
Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship,
Wisconsin. Military rites will be offered at the graveside
service by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the Adams American
Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand Marsh American
Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at
Roseberry's Funeral Home.
Marvin was born March 15, 1932 in Janesville, Wisconsin
to Lewis and Edith (Thompson) Williams. The family moved to
the family farm in Adams County in 1933. Marvin graduated
from Adams-Friendship High School in 1951. He served in the
Air Force during the Korean War. Marvin married Velma Jean
Elliott on Dec. 20th, 1952 in Adams, Wisconsin.
After service, Marvin returned to Adams County where he
worked for the Chicago NorthWestern Railroad. He also owned
and operated several businesses including Williams Trucking.
Marvin retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in July of
2000. Marvin was divorced in March of 2006.
Marvin was committed to his family and took pleasure in
being with them.
Marvin enjoyed working, going for coffee with his
friends, and helping others with repairs.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers,
Lawrence, Leo and an infant brother.
