Ruth Mae Schroeder, age 76, of
Port Edwards, Wisconsin died June 12, 2006 at the Edgewater
Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards, Wisconsin. Funeral
services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2006 at the
Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. The Rev.
Pat McBain and Rev. Gerald Matthews will officiate.
Interment will be at the East Arkdale Cemetery, Twp of
Strongs Prairie, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Roseberry's
Funeral Home.
Ruth was born December 16, 1929 at the Silver Cross
Hospital in Joliet, Illinois to Edward and Edna (Earls)
Knupp. She married Beldon Schroeder on December 9, 1950 in
New Lenox, Illinois. Ruth were blessed with six children.
She worked at Ed Chambers Nursing Home and cleaned cabins at
Miller’s Resort (now know as Family Affair) in the 1960’s.
Ruth worked at Badger Ordnance from 1965 to 1970. She and
her husband owned and operated Schroeder’s Grocery Store in
Adams. Ruth also worked at Flambeau Plastics in the 1970’s
and the Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship. She also
helped on her husband’s farm for many years.
Ruth enjoyed crocheting, quilting, attending church, and
loved to share stories with her family.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and a
brother-in-law, Robert Wright.
