Viola Victoria Wegert, age 91 of Baraboo, Wisconsin passed
away June 19, 2006 at the St. Clare Hospital, Baraboo, to be
with her Savior.
Viola was born September 9, 1914 to Victoria and John
Baumel in the Town of Preston, Adams County, Wisconsin. She
graduated high school in Adams-Friendship and attended
Normal School in Wisconsin Rapids. Viola was united in
marriage to Harvey John Wegert on May 7, 1938 in the Town of
Quincy in Adams County. Harvey and Viola moved to Baraboo in
1942, where they resided until her death.
Viola worked at Badger Ordnance Works during WWII and
raised seven children. She was a wonderful wife and mother
who will be sadly missed by her family.
Viola is survived by her husband Harvey, children Harvey
(Dee) of Nitro, WV, Harold (Naomi) of Madison, AL, Evelyn
(Joseph) Screnock of Baraboo, Dawneen (Donald) Harman of
Baraboo, Bonnie (Jeffrey) Little of North Freedom, Diane
(James) Benham of Mary Esther, FL, and Helen Happle of
Baraboo. Viola is further survived by 17 grandchildren and
32 great-grandchildren.
Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin is
assisting the family. Visitation is Thursday, June 22, at
1:00 with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will be in the Mount Repose Cemetery in
Friendship. Reverend Timothy Anderson of Our Savior Lutheran
Church of Baraboo will officiate the service.
