“Monk” Henningsen, age 78,
of Brooks, Wisconsin died Friday, March 24, 2006 at the
Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship,
Wisconsin.Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. on Monday,
March 27, 2006 at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in
Friendship, Wisconsin. The Rev. John K. Stake will
officiate.
Cremation will follow the service, with final interment
at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1st, 2006 at the
New Chester Cemetery, Twp of New Chester, Adams County,
Wisconsin. Military rites will be offered at the graveside
service by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the Adams American
Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand Marsh American
Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273.
Visitation will be from 3p.m. to the time of service on
Monday at Roseberry's Funeral Home.
Calvin was born July 3, 1927 in Brooks, Wisconsin to
Hilbert and Mildred (Lamphear) Henningsen. He was a veteran
of WWII, serving in the Army. He married Shirley
Dewar on February 4, 1950 in Waukegan, IL. Calvin worked for
the railroad after the war. He later worked for Speed Queen
in Ripon, Wisconsin for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Calvin
also worked for the Brooks Garage part-time for many years.
Calvin enjoyed working on cars in his garage, riding four
wheelers, pony and antique tractor pulls, and spending time
with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; daughter,
Sandra Henningsen (1969); brothers (Pat, Vilas, and Wayne);
and sisters (Erma, Beulah, and Hazel).
