Merlin Fredrick Stelse, age
74, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Wednesday, March 15, 2006
at his home following short battle with colon cancer. A
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25,
2006at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship,
Wisconsin.
Visitation will be at Roseberry's Funeral Home on
Saturday, March 25th from 1:00 p.m. until the
time of service.
Interment will be at a late date at the Hartland
Cemetery, Hartland, Wisconsin.
Merlin was born July 31, 1931 in Lake Mills, Wisconsin to
Otto and Leona (Schmelphenig) Stelse. As a youth he worked
on the family farm. He married Vivian Jorgensen on June 13,
1953 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Merlin was a 21 year
veteran of the 84th Army Reserve. He worked as a
teamster over the road truck driver for over 20 years.
Merlin moved to Adams County in 1991 from Milwaukee,
Wisconsin.
Merlin’s sense of humor will be missed. He enjoyed bird
watching, eating, watching "the Price is Right," listening
to Polka Music on FM 106.1, and playing with his dog, Max.
Merlin was preceded in death by his parents; son (James
Scott Stelse); daughter (Lana Jane Stelse); two brothers
(Robert and Maynard).
