Harry Ivon Steinruck, age 64, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at the Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Harry was born on June 3, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Harry and Ellen Steinruck. After the loss of his father, his mother remarried and they lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He lived in the Milwaukee area for a number of years, and worked as a soil engineer. Harry, as a young man, started spending many weekends and vacations in the Adams County area. He felt there wasnt a better place to enjoy his favorite hobbies which included hunting, fishing, trapping and camping. He loved the area so much that he bought a home in White Creek, Wisconsin and made it his permanent residence about 10 years ago. For the last few years he worked at Coldwater Canyon Golf Course.

Over the years Harry also developed a love for photography and woodworking. He especially loved to photograph nature in any element and make items using a wood lathe. When you visited Harry you would most often find him sitting on his deck with a cup of coffee in front of him and just enjoying the sites and sounds of nature around him. He has instilled his love of nature in all of his children. Harry loved to share his hobbies with family and friends and those times will be remembered with fondness and gratefulness in their hearts.

Harry had an accident a year ago and was no longer able to enjoy most of his favorite hobbies. His family consoles themselves with the knowledge that he no longer suffers pain daily and the hope that someday they will all be together again.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, two of his sons; Paul Steinruck, and Tony Reinhart, and his second wife, Toni Sanger.

The surviving members of his family are:

Daughter: Kym (Robert) George

Son: John (Naomi) Steinruck

Daughter: Cassandra Gracia

Grandchild: Ivon Steinruck (son of John and Naomi)

Grandchild: David Steinruck (son of Paul)

Grandchildren: Ashli and Grant Gracia (children of Cassandra)

Great Grandchild: Hailey Steinruck (daughter of David)

Ex-wife: Barbara Steinruck

Harry did not want a formal memorial service and his family is respecting his final wish. An informal gathering open to anyone who wishes to come will be held at the Lions Park in White Creek, Wisconsin on Saturday, September 16, 2006 from 1pm to 3pm. The family asks that instead of sending or bringing flowers that a donation to the American Heart Association or another charity be made in remembrance of him.

The family would also like to express their thanks to Roseberrys Funeral Home & Crematory for their assistance with the arrangements of the cremation of their beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, husband and friend Harry Steinruck.
