James A. Waszak, age 84, of Westfield, passed away on August 13, 2007 peacefully at his Residence in Westfield, Wisconsin.

Private family services are planned for a later date.

James was born on May 26, 1923 in Lady Smith, Wisconsin to John and Irene Waszak. From February of 1943 Until October of 1945 James was enlisted the United States Army. He had received a purple heart and a bronze star with the Oak Leaf Cluster and Presidential Citation. James married Gertrude M. Mierendorf on August 31, 1946 in Milwaukee. He had worked for the city of Milwaukee and retired after 37 years of service.

James was active member of the Westfield VFW Post 8718.

Survivors:

Wife: Gertrude Waszak of Westfield, Wisconsin

Daughter: Charlotte (Gregory) Sommers of Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Son: James A. (Barbara) Waszak of Hubertus, Wisconsin

Grandchildren: 6

Great Grandchildren: 2
