James E. Wehinger, Sr, age 65, of
Friendship, WI, formerly of South Wayne, WI, passed away
on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at his home. He was born
on August 4, 1941 the son of J. Edward and Mildred J. (Neese)
Wehinger in Monroe, WI. James graduated from Black Hawk
High School in South Wayne, WI in 1960, and later
attended The Platteville University in Platteville, WI.
He was united in marriage to Judith A. Johnson on August
10, 1963 at Wiota Lutheran Church. James and Judith
shared 44 years of marriage together. They lived in
South Wayne until 1986 when they moved to Austin, TX.
They then moved to Friendship, WI in 1988.
James is survived by his wife: Judith
at home; his mother: Mildred Grebner of Warren, IL; his
son: James (Phyllis) Wehinger, Jr of Friendship, WI; two
step-grandchildren: Joshua Roatch of Friendship, WI, and
Justine Roatch at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey;
his foreign exchange children: Guillermo (Sandra)
Oseguera of Mexico City, MX, Gerardo (Gina) Oseguera of
Flower Mound, TX, Gabriella (Dr. Rafael) Briones of
Mexico City, and their children; beloved aunts: Gertrude
Koehn, and Esther Tregloan both of Monroe, WI; six
cousins: Beverly "Sis", Jerry, Janet, Patricia, Terry,
and Tami; and his beloved dog, Jazz. He was preceded in
death by his father, Edward, on June 26, 2004; paternal
grandparents: John and Ida (Isely) Wehinger; maternal
grandparents: Milton and Esther (Clock) Neese; uncles:
LaVerne Koehn, Mel Tregloan, Vic Wehinger, Earl Schliem;
and aunts: Lillian Schliem, and Marion (Chub) Wehinger.
James was a member of Wiota Lutheran
Church, and served as a council member. James was a
Bethel Series Student, and Wiota Luther League Advisor
for 14 years. He belonged to South Wayne Fire
Department, and was the former and youngest ever Village
President and Clerk in the state of Wisconsin. James was
a charter member on the Board of Directors of Black Hawk
Sportsman Club. He was the previous owner of Wehinger
Plumbing and Heating in South Wayne, and was employed as
an Austin Texas Master Plumber. James was employed, for
18 years, at the State of Wisconsin Department of
Commerce as Plumbing Consultant, and Cross Connection
Control Specialist. He also instructed Cross Connection
and Backflo Protection Courses at UW Madison and
Wisconsin Rural Water Association. He was a member of
American Backflo Protection. Presently owner of his own
private business "Plumber�s Services". James held Master
Plumbers Licenses in Wisconsin and Texas. He received
many awards and pleasing recognitions. James was also a
Jazz enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood
working, and travel. James loved spending time with his
family and friends, and was devoted to his work, and
always had time for his dog Jazz.
A memorial service will be held on
Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Wiota
Lutheran Church in Wiota, WI with Rev. Sara Gillespie
officiating. Burial will be at East Wiota Cemetery in
Wiota. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 12,
2007 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home

Memorials have been established with the Plumbing
education Fund, and Wiota Lutheran Church�s Education
and Music Programs.
