Donald P. Gilbert, age 91, of Friendship, Wisconsin died
Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Villa Pines Living Center in
Friendship, Wisconsin.
A memorial gathering will be held at Roseberrys Funeral
Home on Monday, July 30, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. Military
rites will be offered at 7:00 p.m. by the Adams VFW Post
#6279; the Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and
the Grand Marsh American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273.
Interment will be at a later date at the Fordham
Cemetery, Friendship, Adams County, Wisconsin.
Donald was born December 11, 1915 in South Bend, Indiana
to Harvey and Florence (Vite) Gilbert. He married Anne E.
Mirous on April 19, 1939 in Miami, Florida. Donald served in
the Army during WWII. The couple made their home in Chicago,
IL following the war, he worked as a machinist � Jocelyn
Manufacturing and Supply Company in Chicago, IL. He retired
in 1968 and moved to Friendship. Donald later worked for
Louis/ Castle Rock Container for a number of years.
Donald enjoyed traveling by car, cutting wood, fishing,
and mowing the yard.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, brother,
Harvey; two sisters, Mary Clawson and Jenny Grover;
son-in-law, Daniel Pope.
