Grace
Agnes Roberts, age 95, of Friendship (formerly of Necedah
and Mauston), Wisconsin died March 16, 2007 at the Moundview
Memorial Extended Care in Friendship, Wisconsin.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March
21, 2007 at the Bay View Cemetery in Necedah, Wisconsin.
Rev. Richard Corning will officiate.
Grace was born July 8, 1911 in North English, Iowa to
Charles and Florence (Smith) Blair - the second of six
children. Grace met her future husband, the local mail
carrier, when her parents moved to a farm in Sprague, WI.
She later married that mail carrier, Raymond Lee Roberts on
June 27, 1928 in Winona, Minnesota.
The couple made their home in Necedah, Wisconsin where
they raised their four children. After Ray�s retirement,
they moved to Friendship, WI and built a new home. In 1973,
Ray suffered a stroke. Grace devoted herself to taking care
of Ray until his death in 1978.
Although Grace enjoyed cooking, bowling in a league at
the "Y" club, and dancing at the Dellwood Pavilion, her
greatest joy was when she was spending time with her family.
Grace loved her church, the Methodist Church of Necedah.
For years, she spent hours each month making quilts for the
Women�s Auxiliary of the church. Grace was also a member of
the Eastern Star, where she served as a past worthy matron.
Grace was preceded in death by her Parents,
Charles and Florence Blair; Husband, Raymond L. Roberts;
Son, Raymond "Sonny" Roberts; Daughter, Lois Hedman;
Sisters: Fern (Verno) Thomas, Marjorie Jean (Gerald)
Petrowitz; and an infant sister Mary Lou; and Brothers:
Melvin and Jake Blair.
