George
E. Kaldenberg, age 74, of Baraboo, Wisconsin died November
27, 2007 at St. Joseph�s Hospital in Marshfield after a
short battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 2:00
p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the Roseberry�s Funeral
Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be
12:00 p.m. on Sunday at Roseberry�s Funeral Home. Mr.
Peter Kingslow will officiate. Military
rites will be offered by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the Adams
American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand Marsh
American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273. Interment
will take place at a later date on the family plot at the Oak Hill
Cemetery, North Freedom, Sauk County, Wisconsin.
George was born on January 16, 1933 in Dexter, MN. He
married Marveline (Richard) Kaldenberg on December 26, 1950
in Iowa. Soon after his marriage, his Army Reserve Unit was
activated and sent to Colorado and from there they were
deployed to Japan for two years, in support of the Korean
War. After returning home from overseas, George started in
the construction business where after a few years he joined
Anthony Grignano Construction Company as a job
superintendent for 27 years. In 1986 He and Marveline moved
to Adams where he started his own construction Business that
he owned and operated for 16 years. While in Adams he served
on the County Board representing district 11 including two
terms as board President. After his retirement in the fall
of 2003, he and Marv sold their home to travel full time in
their RV. They enjoyed spending the winters in Texas and the
Summers in Lac Du Flambeau in Northern Wisconsin. After
being diagnosed with cancer in June of 2007, George and Marv
moved to Baraboo to be closer to family. He enjoyed hunting,
fishing, golf, being outdoors and spending time with his
family and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, sister, and a brother.
