George Paul �Woody� Woodruff, age 66,
of Grand Marsh, died of natural causes in Adams County
Wednesday, November 14th, 2007, while doing
something he loved � hunting.
George was born April 9, 1941 in Adams,
Wisconsin, the son of George and Hazel (Bartley) Woodruff.
He grew up in Adams-Friendship, graduating from A-F High
School in 1959. That same year, he married Jeannette (Veeder)
Batko. This marriage was blessed with five children. In
1995, he was re-married to June (Hall) Podoll. Always a
hard-working provider, his jobs included many years on the
Chicago Northwestern Railroad, carpentry, and driving for
the local co-op.
George was preceded in death by his
parents.
Survivors include his wife, June
Woodruff of Grand Marsh, son, Jon �Toby� (Shirley) Woodruff
of Arkdale, daughters, Lynnette (Kevin) Traas of Waunakee,
Laurie (Mark) Mosher of Sun Prairie, Jodie Woodruff (Suzanne
Reed) of North Kingstown, R.I., and Jennifer (Kevin) Vander
Laan of Stevens Point, stepsons, Dennis (Karen) Podoll of
Wisconsin Dells, Russell (Jennifer) Podoll of Grand Marsh,
Wendell (Lori Lynn) Podoll of Grand Marsh, sisters Bette
Woodruff of Alabama and Sandra (Tom) Harrington of New
Mexico, fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and
many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
George had a wonderful sense of humor
and generous spirit. He loved hunting, fishing, and
spending time with his numerous friends and beloved family.
He will be sadly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00
p.m. Sunday, November 18th, at Roseberry�s
Funeral Home in Friendship. Interment will be at the Mount
Repose Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home
from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17th,
and 1:00 p.m. to the time of service on Sunday.
