Bernard
"Bernie" William Polczynski, age 66, of Grand Marsh,
Wisconsin died Monday, October 15, 2007 at his home
following a battle with brain cancer.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October
18, 2007 at the
Gould Rock Cemetery in Grand Marsh, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17th,
2007 at Roseberry's Funeral Home. Military rites will be
offered at the graveside service by the Adams VFW Post
#6279; the Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and
the Grand Marsh American Legion Snider-Richardson Post #273.
Bernie was born April 1, 1941 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to
Frank W. and Rose V. (Badke) Polczynski. He graduated from
Messmer High School in Milwaukee, WI. Bernie married June
Fox on October 21, 1961 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bernie
retired from the Wisconsin Army National Guard as a E9 SGM
after 25 years. He worked as a letter carrier for 33 years
for the United States Postal Service. Bernie retired in June
of 1994, and moved to Grand Marsh in 1997.
Bernie volunteered for many activities, WNGEA Life
member, Commander of Snider Richardson American Legion Post
273, Adams County American Legion Commander, GMADC on Board
of Directors, ABATE member, NCFD Fire fighter, fire
inspector and dispatcher, Red Arrow club of Milwaukee, and
Town of New Chester Plan Commission Chairman.
Bernie enjoyed working in his workshop on wood crafts, he
was an avid bibliophile, yard work, going to flea markets,
and rummage sales, family gatherings, and enjoyed living in
the woods.
Bernie was preceded in death by his father, Frank W.
Polczynski.
