In 1954, she and her parents moved to Madison where she attended Lowell Elementary School and was proud to be one of the first students to have attended the Herbert Schenk Middle School. As a freshman at Madison East High School, she was influenced by Miss Hanson, her mentor and dance instructor. After graduation from Madison East High School in 1964, Linda married Robert L. J. Bennett on August 24, 1965. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1972. Through her years living in the Madison area, Linda was an employee of Simplex Time Recorder and Lands End. She also volunteered for the Mohawk District of Boys Scouts of America and was one of the first women in the District to earn her Boy Scout wood badge award. In 2002, Linda moved to the Adams-Friendship area where she worked as a secretary for Wisconsin Job Service. She loved the fine arts especially dance, art design, and quilting. She also was fond of cats, and through the years, was surrogate mother to many lucky felines. Linda is survived by her dear son, Shawn Eric Bennett, of Stevens Point and friends in the Madison and Adams- Friendship areas. She was predeceased by her parents, maternal grandparents, Perry and Hazel Wood, paternal grandparents, Fred and Daphne Kuhlmann, and a very close friend, Al Elenewski from Adams.

Through lifes roller coaster of events, Linda maintained a positive and up-beat attitude and always had a friendly smile for everyone. In her waning hours, Linda expressed gratitude and appreciation for her caregivers especially Hospice workers and the spiritual solace and help provided by friends from the congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Friendship.
