Roger
Dean Poteat, age 64, of Nekoosa, Wisconsin died Thursday,
August 21, 2008 at the Wm S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital
in Madison, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at
4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Roseberry's Funeral
Home, Friendship, Wisconsin. Cremation will follow the
traditional service. Military rites will be offered by the
Adams County Honor Squad.
Roger was born January 27, 1944 in Bessmer City, North
Carolina to Harry and Ella (Hodge) Poteat. The family moved
to Wisconsin when Roger was 10 years old. Roger served in
the Marines 3/3/Lima Division, he was a veteran of the
Vietnam War. He married Adeline Peters on September 25, 2000
in Friendship, Wisconsin.
Roger was District Governor 27C1 of Wisconsin Lion�s
International from 1991-1992.
Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, riding his ATV,
and traveling to Quartzsite, AZ.
Roger was preceded in death by parents, Harry and Ella
Poteat; Sibling, Betty JoAnn Whitworth; daughter, Melissa
Poteat; and an infant brother.
