Alfred
A. Krapf, Msgt U.S.A.F Ret, age 86, of Grand Marsh,
Wisconsin died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Divine Savior
Extended Care in Portage, Wisconsin.
A visitation gathering will be from 11 a.m. until 12:30
p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the Roseberry's
Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Military honors will
be offered at the funeral home by the Adams VFW Post #6279;
the Adams American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand
Marsh American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273. A
luncheon will follow at the Grand Marsh Community Center.
Interment will be at a later date at the Riverside
Memorial Park
Cemetery, Fox Lake, Wisconsin.
Alfred was born January 2, 1922 in Iron Ridge, Wisconsin
to
Jacob and Agatha (Neier) Krapf. He enlisted in the
Army in 1938 and served until 1945. Alfred married Betty
Wood on November 14, 1946 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Alfred
then re-enlisted in the Air Force and served until 1962. He
retired as a Msgt. Alfred then worked for the State of
Wisconsin Division of Corrections until 1983 when he retired
and moved to Adams County.
Alfred enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping,
and planting trees. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Alfred was a member of the American Legion Post of Fox
Lake, and a life time member of the NRA.
Memorials may be directed to the Disabled American
Veterans (DAV).
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, John Jake
and Agatha (Fink) Krapf; wife, Betty Krapf;
sons: Jon Krapf and Jeffery Krapf; and sisters: Shirley
Krapf and Olga Gabrus.
