Roy
H. Barnes, age 80, of Friendship, Wisconsin died January 12,
2008 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services
will be at 11:00 on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adams, Wisconsin. Rev. John
Krebs will officiate. A private family graveside service
will be held at the South Arkdale Cemetery. Visitation will
be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2008 at Roseberry�s
Funeral Home and again at the church from 10:00 a.m. until
the time of service on Tuesday. Roy was born July 20, 1927
in Eagle, Wisconsin to Harry and Lillian Barnes.
Prior to marriage Roy�s life
included working on the family farm and driving truck before
serving two years in the US Army. He married Ethel J. Holm
on November 26, 1949 in Dellwood, Wisconsin. This marriage
was blessed with three children. He took great pride in his
family and his lasting legacy and considered this his
greatest accomplishment.
Roy operated several businesses
with Ethel at his side in his years in Adams. This began
with service stations, an oil delivery business, and his
last fifteen years operating Barnes Hardware in Adams before
retiring in 1989. Roy was involved with the Chamber of
Commerce, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Adams Fire Dept., and
the Roche-A-Cri Lions organizations. After retirement Roy
and Ethel enjoyed wintering in Arizona and summers with
family and friends in Wisconsin. After Ethel�s passing, he
continued to sense the needs of others and would be there
with words of encouragement, a toolbox or simply a visit.
His humor, smile, and gentle
spirit will be greatly missed.

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adams, or to Hospice Touch in
Tomah, WI.
Roy was preceded in
death by Parents; wife, Ethel; grandson, David; sisters,
Dorothy and Bernice; and brothers, Jesse and Tom.
