Thayne
A. (Ace) Henningsen, age 91, of Friendship, Wisconsin died
Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Tomah VA Medical Center in
Tomah, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be 12 noon on Saturday, January
26th at Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship. Military
rites will be offered by the Adams VFW Post #6279; the Adams
American Legion Red Cloud Post #250; and the Grand Marsh
American Legion Snyder-Richardson Post #273. Interment will
be at the Niebull Cemetery, Town of Big Flats, Adams County,
Wisconsin. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday until
time of services at Roseberry's Funeral Home.
Thayne was born October 7, 1916 in Brooks, Wisconsin the
son of Alfred and Dena (Huber) Henningsen. He attended
Brooks, Badger Valley Elementary, and the Wisconsin Dells
High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps
in July 21, 1941 and retired in November 30, 1967. He served
in WW-II (Guadalcanal), Korean Conflict, the Cuban Missile
Crisis and the Vietnam War. After his retirement he worked
for Armco Steel in Torrance, California on offshore and on
shore oil drilling rigs.
He married Louise Hillis in Phoenix, Arizona on July 8,
1950.
Thayne was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and
Dena Henningsen; Wife, Louise Henningsen (1982); and
brothers, Russell and Stuart Henningsen.
Thayne moved to the family homestead in the Township of
Big Flats in 1982. He built a nice home on his tree farm and
enjoyed watching the wild animals from the large picture
window in his kitchen. He also loved to fish and hunt. The
love of his life was his dog named Jack. Everywhere you saw
Thayne, "Jack" was right by his side. They were inseparable
buddies. Thayne and Jack will be missed.

grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several
great-great-grandchildren, 5 nieces and 3 nephews.
The family would thank Susan M. French of Richmond, VA
took care of Thayne for last 2 � years. She was a very
dedicated caregiver.
