CHRISTA PALMER

Adams has lost a good friend and great cook.
Christa Palmer was a beautiful woman, listener, problem
solver, shoulder to cry on. She was a haven of comfort and
kindness, from a warn bowl of her famous soup to a heartfelt
hug.
Christa Palmer known and loved by many, peacefully died
of cancer early Sun. Jan.13, 2008 at 3:00 a.m. with family
and close friends at her bedside at Villa Pines in Adams.
She was blessed with children and grandchildren and one
surviving brother in Germany.
She leaves a legacy of bravery, honest hard work,
compassion and trust. One of her battle cries, "Just Keep
Plugging!"
Christa was born in Eastern Bloc Prussia now part of
Russia.
She was a refugee during the war as oldest of four
siblings.
Secretly she helped many others and herself and family
escape from behind the wall to Holland, then West Germany.
Eventually Christa relocated to the United States.
Christa married Royal Palmer in 1959.
She worked as an experienced cook and kitchen manager for
several area restaurants.
She intensely loved her family, friends, good laughs and
good food. Through the years Christa touched countless lives
and hearts. She will be dearly missed. Cards and flowers
