Ardis Lillian Gorton, age 95, of Adams, Wisconsin died July 17, 2008 at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena, Wisconsin.

Following cremation a private family service will take place at the Hancock Cemetery, Hancock, Waushara County, Wisconsin.

Ardis was born May 12, 1913 in Plainfield, Wisconsin to Frank B. and Eunice (Garison) Cook. She married Floyd Gorton on August 3, 1940 in Portage, Wisconsin. Ardis worked at Brakebush in Westfield for 10 years, retiring 1978.

Ardis enjoyed gardening, crocheting, going to church, beadwork, helping her friends, and fishing.

Ardis was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Adams County Seniors Club, and the Adams Trinity Congregational Ladies Circle.

Ardis was preceded in death by husband, Floyd Gorton; son, Jack; daughter-in-law, Carol; grandson, Bryce; two brothers; and sister, Ruth.

Granddaughter: Carazon Gorton of Portage, WI

Grandson: Troy Gorton of Westfield, Wisconsin

Grandson: Darrick Gorton of Wausau, Wisconsin

Niece: Doris Hanson of Willcox, AZ

Further survived by several great-grandchildren and  great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
