John A. Kort, age 76, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin passed away October 5, 2008 at the Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin.   Father James P. McNamee will officiate.   Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Friday and again on Saturday at 12:00 Noon until the time of services at Roseberry's Funeral Home. 

John was born November 11, 1931 in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin to Tony Kort and Katherine Zehren. He attended Sacred Heart School in Shawano and graduated from Shawano High School in 1950 he then attended the University of Wisconsin- Madison School of Pharmacy and graduated in 1955 with a BS degree in pharmacy.

He married Virjean Wolf on December 27, 1954 in Marshfield, Wisconsin. John worked for Rennebohm Drug Stores from 1950-1958.  He moved to Adams in 1958 to work for Goggin Drug.  John became partner of Ronald Goggin in 1960.  On Bud Goggins retirement in 1968 he became owner of Goggin Drug Store.  John sold the drug store and retired in 1987.  He then worked part-time for Gwidt (new owner of Goggin Pharmacy), Wal-Mart Pharmacy and Dalys Pharmacy.

John was a member of Kappa-Psi Pharmacy Fraternity; 32^nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rites Body; Knights of Columbus, 3^rd degree; Wisconsin Pharmaceutical assn; the HET (Hudson, Essex & Terraplane) Auto Collectors Club; Model A Restorers Club (MARC); CACI (AMC-AMX) Club; Creepers Car Club; Adams Fire Dept; A-F Lions Club (30+ yrs); A-F Lions Club Sight Conservation Chairman and Chairperson of Adams County Eye Bank; Director (23yrs) of M & I Bank of AF (Adams Co. State Bank)

He was preceded in death by: His parents and Infant Sister, Barbara
