Mary C. Armstrong, age 86, of
Friendship, Wisconsin passed away August 31, 2009 at her
home in Friendship, Wisconsin surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be
2:00p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Roseberry's Funeral
Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor Sam Downey will
officiate. Visitation will be 12:00 Noon until the time of
service on Friday at Roseberry's Funeral Home.
Mary was born July 2, 1923 in Missouri, to Ervin and
Gertrude Marti. She married Louis Armstrong on February 19,
1946 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Mary worked on her
family�s dairy farm and as a production worker at a
wallpaper mill in Illinois while growing up. In 1947 she and
Louis moved to Friendship, Wisconsin. She became a housewife
and helped her husband on their farm and then later worked
in a garment factory in Mauston and at Triple P Gasket
Factory in Necedah.
Mary was a 4-H leader for over 50 years and was assistant
youth leader for Modern Woodmen for 41 years and a member of
Farmer�s Union for over 40 years. She enjoyed doing
community service with the members of the Modern Woodmen and
4-H members. Both youth clubs consisted of her children,
grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great
grandchildren and many other children. She liked to feed and
watch the birds and enjoyed gardening, she also liked to
play cards and do cross word puzzles.
She was preceded
in death by her Parents, Ervin & Gertrude Marti; Husband,
Louis Armstrong Sr.; and Brother, Dale Marti.
