Donald W. Erickson, age 87, of Arkdale,
Wisconsin passed away February 10, 2009 at the Edgewater
Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards, Wisconsin.
Memorial services will be 5:00 p.m. on
Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Roseberry's Funeral Home in
Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor Daniel Cox will officiate.
Military rites will be offered by the Adams County Honor
Guard. Interment will be at the East Arkdale Cemetery at a
later date.
Friends may gather at the funeral home from
4:00 p.m. with services to follow.
Donald was born March 15, 1921 in Arkdale,
WI to Charles and Mary (Lecy) Erickson. He served in the
United States Army/Air Force during WWII as a Military
Policeman serving in the Philippines, Guam & Saipan.
Donald was united in marriage with Harriet
Pierce on May 8, 1948 at
Arkdale Lutheran Church in
Arkdale, Wisconsin. This marriage was blessed with four
children over the 60+ years that they were together.
He farmed the family homestead in Arkdale
for many years. Donald was a member of the
Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church. He was very well
liked and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Charles and
Mary; son, William R. Erickson; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
