August A. Klein, age 86, of Quincy, Wisconsin died February 6, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family in Quincy, Wisconsin.  

Private family services will be held.

August was born October 7, 1922 in Adams County, Wisconsin to John and Lillian Klein.  

He enlisted with the United States Army and served in WWII receiving a purple heart.

August married Betty Fought on October 7, 1972 in Friendship, Wisconsin. 

He enjoyed riding and showing horses, fishing, gardening, woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren and family.

August was a lifetime member of VFW Post # 6279

He was preceded in death by his father,  John Klein; mother,  Lillian Klein; and sister,  Sylvia Goslawski.

    Grandson:  Ethan August Pare of Quincy, Wisconsin

    Daughter:  Barbara Klein of Melrose, Wisconsin

    Sister:  Dolly (Howard) McLain of Friendship, Wisconsin

    Sister:  Ann Gorlan of Illinois

    Sister:  Lol Turek of Illinois

    Sister:  Carol (John) Havel of Friendship, Wisconsin

    Brother:  John (Paula) Klein of Quincy, WI

    Brother:  Larry Klein of Friendship, Wisconsin

    Further survived by:  several Nieces Nephews
