Lorraine Ann Premo, age 83, of Brooks, Wisconsin died Monday, February 23, 2009 at Our Home Assisted Living in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. Dean Nelson will officiate. Sandy Murray and Brian Murray will be singing. Friends may call at Roseberry's on Saturday, February 28th,  from 11 a.m until the time of service.

Interment will be at the New Chester Cemetery, Town of New Chester, Adams County, Wisconsin.

Lorraine was born August 4, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Harold and Cecil (Beals) Graskamp. She married John C. Premo on February 4, 1943 in Westfield, Wisconsin. Lorraine was the Postmaster in Brooks for 35 years and lent her ear who came through her door. She also collected electric bills for Pioneer Power and Light. 

Lorraine enjoyed to crochet and knit, making hats and afghans for many area children and family friends. She also enjoyed cooking, especially baking pies and cookies, taking trips to Nashville, and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson.

Lorraine was a member of Brooks Congregational Church, was President of the Brooks school board, and organized the Brooks Ladies Aid and area 500 Club.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John C. Premo (May 22, 1997); infant son, John Premo Jr.; sister, Valerie Anderson; great-granddaughter, Kristen Rockman; and son-in-law, Wayne Jansa;

Son: Jim Premo of Adams, Wisconsin

Daughter: Margie (Curtis) Walstad of Lodi, Wisconsin

Daughter: Kathy Jansa of Portage, Wisconsin

Daughter: Penny Premo of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Grandchildren: 11

Great-Grandchildren: 19

Great-Great-Grandson: 1

Brother: Hollis Elliott of Oxford, Wisconsin

Sister: Beverly Fry of Milton, Wisconsin

Sister: Betty Chapman of Portage, Wisconsin

Sister: Edna Taft of Oxford, Wisconsin

Further survived by other relatives and friends.
