Gene
Franklin Stagman, age 80, of Big Flats, Wisconsin passed
away peacefully in hospice care Friday, February 13, 2009 at
the Tomah VA Medical Center in Tomah, Wisconsin.

Sunday, February 15, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be 12 Noon on Monday, February 16th,
at Garrity Funeral Home, 704 S Ohio St, Prairie du Chien, WI
.
Mr. Al Huber will officiate. Friends may call at

(map) on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be at the Bagley Cemetery, Grant County,
Wisconsin.
Gene was born April 20, 1928 in Wyalusing, Wisconsin to
Clarence and Mary (Levens) Stagman. He joined the Navy at
the age of 17, a veteran of WWII. While stationed in Boston
he met the love of his life, Janet Biladeau, they were wed
in 1951. Together they had six children. Janet preceded him
in death in June of 1968.
In 1971, he married Mary Jane Hoffman who helped raise
his family, she passed away in 2003.
Gene retired as a tool & die craftsman from V&L Tool of
Waukesha, WI in 1990 and moved to God�s Country
Adams-Friendship in 1995. While retired, he enjoyed many
years on his mini-farm and his other passions of traveling,
hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Gene was a member of the American Legion Red Cloud Post
#250.
Gene was preceded in death by parents; wife, Janet
(1968); wife, Mary (2003); son, Mark (1980); and brothers,
Clarence "Buzz" Stagman and Edward Pitzer.
