Savannah
Rhae (Tammy Sue Kirsenlohr) age 38, of Colfax, WI went to be
with her eternal father on January 11, 2009 at the Sacred
Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January
17, 2009 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adams,
Wisconsin. Rev. Candy Lisiecki will officiate. Visitation
will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Savannah was born May 1, 1970 in Friendship, Wisconsin to
Robert and Shirley Kirsenlohr Sr.
She graduated from A-F High School in 1988. While in high
school she was active in band, dance and student council.
Her love of student council allowed her to be active on the
state level. Several years following high school she
returned to lead camp workshops for incoming student council
members through out the state. She enjoyed doing this,
feeling she was giving back in allowing other young people
to become tomorrows leaders. She attended U.W. Eau Claire
and graduated in 1993 with a psychology major and a
communications minor. A highlight of her college career was
spending a semester in Crested Butte, Colorado teaching
young people to ski. Her love of the outdoors allowed her to
promote caring for the earth and leaving a legacy for the
next generation.
Savannah worked as an AmeriCorps volunteer for two years
in Eau Claire. During this time she worked with
disadvantaged youth promoting their self esteem and
providing opportunities they may never have had otherwise.
As a student of life she was always searching for
alternative ways to traditional health care. She became
knowledgeable and practiced healing touch, massage therapy
and eating of organic locally grown foods. She operated a
business unfinished masterpiece which she shared her
knowledge learned with others. Her spiritual journey
included her learning of God and incorporated her beliefs,
values and environment into her daily living. She worked as
a personal care attendant for several elderly people. She
took great pride in treating them as individuals and caring
for more then their physical needs. She also served as
Chaplain Assistant at Syverson Nursing Home in Eau Claire
for two years. After being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer
she became a spokesperson for pancreatic cancer survivors.
She wanted to spread the word to others how deadly and
unfair this disease is. She kept track of her journey on her
website, www.caringbridge.com (savannahrhae).
She participated in two bike rides to raise money for
research and gave radio interviews to get her message out.
Savannah was a free spirit she touched many lives in ways
that only she will know. She will be greatly missed by her
family and friends.
She was preceded in
death by her father, Robert Kirsenlohr Sr., infant brother,
Scott Kirsenlohr, and her
grandparents.
