Mona Lee Schlafer, age 75, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
died Monday, January 12, 2009 at the Meriter Hospital in
Madison, Wisconsin.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January
14, 2009 at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship,
Wisconsin. Rev. Richard Eberly will officiate. Visitation will be
12 Noon until the time of service on Wednesday at
Roseberry's Funeral Home.
Interment will be at a later date at the Easton Cemetery,
Town of Easton, Adams County, Wisconsin.
Mona was born August 12, 1933 in Grand Marsh, Wisconsin
to Charles and Maybelle (Colburn) Krueger. She graduated
from Adams-Friendship High School in 1951. Mona married
Hollis Winchester on May 7, 1951 in Adams, Wisconsin. The
couple made their home in Easton and Springville Township
where they raised seven children. Hollis passed away on June
9, 1970. Mona later married Darrell Schlafer on September 2,
1972 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin this marriage was blessed
with one child.
Mona was a volunteer for Social Services for many years,
where she drove patients to their doctors appointments.
Mona enjoyed traveling and being with her family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the
American Heart Association.
Mona was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and
Maybelle Krueger; first husband, Hollis Winchester; son,
Merlin Winchester; and brother, Dean Krueger;
great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Cavanaugh.
