Gerald Schilling, age 85, of White Creek, Wisconsin passed
away July 12, 2009 at the Fair View Nursing Home in Mauston,
Wisconsin following a short illness.
Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16,
2009 at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship,
Wisconsin. Rev. Gary Olson will officiate. Military rites
will be offered at the funeral home by the American Legion
Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service
on Thursday at Roseberry's Funeral Home.
Gerald was born March 4, 1924 in Quincy Township, Adams
County, Wisconsin to Anton and Anna (Dunham) Schilling. He
was drafted into the army during World War II. He was an MP
in a hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan. After serving time
in the service he worked on a farm in Mount Horeb,
Wisconsin. He worked at the Powder Plant in Baraboo as well
as the Hospital in Baraboo when it was being built. He also
worked for Leo Van Ert charcoal plant and Theisen�s Lumber
Yard.
Gerald married Leola Zink April 4, 1953. To this union two
children were born, Irene and Eddie.
Gerald was a member of the Grand Marsh American Legion Post#
273. Gerald was interested in draft horses and horse
pulling.
