Herbert Aaron Damron Jr., 80, of Punta Gorda, FL born April 26, 1928 in Elsberry, MO died April 20, 2009 at Harbour Health Center, Charlotte Harbor, FL.

Herb moved to the Waukegan, IL area from Missouri in the 40�s. He owned and operated Herb�s Used Auto Parts and Herb�s Sinclair in downtown Lake Villa, IL in the early 60�s for which he grew out of fast and purchased 13 acres outside of the city limits by Larsen Industrial Park . In 1967 he moved Herb�s Used Auto Parts, Inc. there and it ran successfully until 1999. In 1984 he expanded and built Herb�s 24 Hour Wrecker Service and ran the towing there until he retired in 1994. Herb built a vacation home up on Petewell Lake in central Wisconsin in the 60�s where he loved to fish, hunt, snowmobile and ride ATV�s. Then when it got cold he would pack up and go spend the winters in Punta Gorda, FL where he could keep on fishing. Fishing was his passion. Herb belonged to the Petenwell � Castle Rock Property Owner�s Association where they worked on keeping Petenwell Lake the best fishing hole around.

Herb will be greatly missed by his sons Peter (Mary) Damron of TN and William (Carol) Damron of IL: daughters Mary Ann (Denis) Harbison of IL, Debra (John) Powell of WI, and Lisa Damron of IL: grandchildren Dawn, Lisa, Tabitha, Kelly, Kim, Krista, Bill, Corey, Carey, Hans, Heidi, Amber, Lewis, and Peyton: and great-grandchildren Max, Krystal, Ashley, Peter, Taylor, Caylee, Michael, Nicholas, Junior, Jaidian, Jacob and Felicia and many dear and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Lee Hanner and grandson Peter Jr.

A memorial service will be held at the Monroe Center Cemetery in Monroe Center, WI on June 6, 2009 at 1:00pm. Following will be a luncheon next door at the Petenwell Pub, 1951 Bighorn Dr., Arkdale, WI 54613. 608-564-3128.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Quincy Fire Dept. of Dellwood, WI.
