She was born in Chicago, IL on April 18, 1941 to Elmo and
Elva Smyth. She grew up in Loon Lake IL with her brothers
and loving parents. She moved to Adams-Friendship, WI with
her parents when they retired. Frances loved to spend time
with her family, and enjoyed taking trips to visit family
and to see new places. She was employed for much of her
adult life, and continued to go to work as much as possible
in the last few months as her illness progressed. Most
recently, she was employed by the Weary Traveler Restaurant,
with assistance from Goodwill, Inc. She recently announced
that she hoped to work until she was 71 years old.
Frances was known for the small acts of kindness she
offered to others less fortunate than herself, and for her
love of painting pictures using paint by number kits. She
has many friends who will miss her presence in their lives.
For the past 28 years, Frances has received assistance from
Options in Community Living, Inc. She valued the assistance
she received, and valued her autonomy just as much.
She is survived by her brother Howard and sister-in-law
Karon of London, KY, and her brother Elmo and sister-in-law
Margaret of Stoughton, WI.
