Donald L. Townsend, age 76, of
Friendship, formerly of Janesville, Wisconsin passed away
June 22, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield,
Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26,
2009 at the White Creek Congregational Church in White
Creek, Wisconsin. Pastor Dwight Condon will officiate.
Interment will be at the Plainville Cemetery. Military
honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 12:00 Noon until the time of service
on Friday at White Creek Congregational Church.
Donald was born April 19, 1933 in Plainville, Wisconsin
to Charles and Pearl (Wittig) Townsend. He served in the
United States Air Force until September 10, 1953 and
received an honorable discharge. Donald married his soul
mate, Patricia A. Gillespie on October 31, 1953 in Albion,
Wisconsin. This marriage was blessed with four children. He
worked at GM Assembly as a material handler in Janesville
for over 30 years.
Donald loved nature and all animals which drew him to his
retirement home in the north woods where he and Pat have
lived for over 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his father: Charles Townsend;
mother, Pearl Stanke; brother: Richard Townsend;
grandson, Toby Davis; sister-in-law: Sharon Townsend;
nephew, Scott Cook.
