Michael
"Mickey" Gerald Klein, age 80, of Adams, Wisconsin died
Friday, March 20, 2009 at home in Adams, Wisconsin.
Mass
of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24,
2009 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Friendship,
Wisconsin. Father James P. McNamee will officiate. Friends
may call at the church on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the
time of service. Cremation will follow the traditional
service with the final interment at Quincy Cemetery on a
later date, Town of Quincy, Adams County, Wisconsin.
Mickey was born September 20, 1928 in Quincy Township,
Wisconsin to Michael Patrick and Violette (Cole) Klein. He
grew up in Wisconsin Dells, WI and graduated from the
Wisconsin Dells High School in 1946. Mickey married Hilma
Norma Lecy on May 19, 1951 in Adams, Wisconsin, this union
was blessed with two sons, Scott and Rick. Mickey worked as
an industrial electrician until his retirement in 1991. He
also owned and operated Klein Sales, selling and servicing
Skidoo snowmobiles in the early 1970�s. His enthusiasm and
interest in snowmobiles was handed down to his two sons,
Rick and Scott. He enjoyed watching his two sons compete in
snowmobile racing and the tradition was passed down to his
grandchildren. He was instrumental in the formation of
several area snowmobile clubs.
Mickey was a charter member and past President of the
Castle Rock Lions, receiving the distinguished Melvin Jones
Fellows Award. Mickey was a member of International
Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #388. He was an
active member of St. Joseph�s Catholic Church serving on the
building committee.
Mickey loved all kinds of music and dancing. He would
entertain his wife each morning with a song. Mickey also
enjoyed working on his garden and yard, the camaraderie of
family and friends that gathered regularly at their home.
Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and
Violette Klein; son, Richard "Rick" Klein (2005); sister,
Rose Heitman; and
brother-in-law, Howard
Heitman.
