Russell Dean Mowry, age 85, of
Adams, Wisconsin died Friday, March 13, 2009 at the
Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship,
Wisconsin.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on
Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Assembly of God Church in
Adams, Wisconsin. Rev. Andrew Eytzen will officiate.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the time of service on
Thursday at Assembly of God Church.
Cremation will follow the service with interment at the
Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday, March
21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
Russell was born October 4, 1923 in Aurora, Illinois to
Alan D. and Gertrude (Boecker) Mowry. He was a veteran of
WII, serving in the Army Air Corp, where he was a flight
instructor for B-24 pilots. Russell worked as Executive
Account Manager for Traveler�s Insurance in Illinois.
He married Beatrice Eleanor Woody on August 1, 1992 in
Assembly of God, in Adams, Wisconsin.
Russell loved to golf and participating and supporting
barber shop quartets.
Russell began his singing career with the Chorus of Du
Page, IL and later became a member of SPEPQSA. He also
served on the Adams County Board, serving on the Airport
Committee, Friesland Community Men�s Choir, and the Masonic
Lodge #65 of Naperville, IL.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Alan D. and
Gertrude Mowry; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Brauer (1964); and
brother, Clifford "Cliff" Mowry (2002).
