Kathleen E. Barclay, age 91, of
Westfield, Wisconsin died Wednesday, May 06, 2009 at the
Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship,
Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m.
on Saturday, May 09, 2009 at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in
Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. Candy Lisiecki will officiate.
Cremation will follow the traditional service with final
interment at the South Burr Oak Cemetery, Town of Richfield,
Adams County, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be 12 Noon until
the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry's Funeral Home.
Kathleen was born October 29, 1917
in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to Paul and Mary (Casper)
Binnebose, the third of six children. She was raised in
Rhinelander, Wisconsin during the Great Depression. After
graduating from High School, she married Norman Barclay on
May 15, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They embarked on a
career in the military that spanned 30 years. In the course
of this, she had a talent for languages and became fluent in
French, German, Korean, and Tagalog. After retiring, they
continued to travel and settled in 1995 in Westfield next to
the old Cutsforth farm.
Kathleen was preceded in death by
a daughter, Diana Ruth (1939); husband, Norman D. Barclay
(Nov. 12, 2006); and her parents.
Kathleen is survived by two sons
Norman (Judy) Barclay of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Robert
(Linda) Barclay of Westfield, Wisconsin; 4 grandchildren; 8
Great-Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial
donation can be made to South Burr Oak United Methodist
Church.
