Maxine A. Van Mater, age 88, of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away October 31, 2009 at Moundview Memorial

Hospital & Clinics in Friendship, Wisconsin. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Quincy Cemetery, town of Quincy, Adams County Wisconsin. Bishop Gerald Jaquith will officiate.

Maxine was born September 14, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri to Henry and Ora (Duffey) McMillan. She married William Van Mater on August 3, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois.

Maxine was a member of the LDS Church for many years. She enjoyed cooking for family get togethers and spending time with her family, especially at Christmas time. Maxine also very much loved flowers and gardening. 

She was preceded in death by her husband: William Van Mater; son: William "Billy" Van Mater; parents: Henry & Ora McMillan; one brother: William; and two sisters: Beatrice & Lavaughn.

Son: Alan Van Mater of Friendship, Wisconsin

Daughter: Susan Pharis of Friendship, Wisconsin

Grandson: David (Andrea) Pharis of Valencia, California

Great Grandsons: Kyle & Dylan Pharis of Valencia, California

Granddaughter: Melissa Pharis of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin

Great Grandson: Taylor Roughen of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin

Granddaughter: Lisa (Arron) Halfman of Valencia, California

Granddaughter: Crystal Pharis of Friendship, Wisconsin

Daughter: Colleen (Donald) Griffie of Arkdale, Wisconsin

Granddaughter: Tammy (Tim) Stephan of Oxford, Wisconsin

Great Granddaughter: Amanda of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Great Great Grandchildren: Alexis & Benjamin of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

Grandson: Tony Griffie of Portage, Wisconsin

Brother in law: Eugene Van Mater of Friendship, Wisconsin

Brother in law: Edward Van Mater of Friendship, Wisconsin
