Richard
Lyman Higby, age 94, of Adams, Wisconsin died Thursday,
April 22, 2010 at the Villa Pines Living Center in
Friendship, Wisconsin.
Memorial services will be 1:00
p.m. on Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Liberty Manor, 550 W.
Liberty St., in Adams, Wisconsin. Rev. John K. Stake will
officiate. Military Honors will be presented by the
Veterans Honor Guard of Adams County and the Adams VFW Post
#6279.
Richard was born March 10, 1916 in
Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Kenneth Edward and Mary Alice
(O'Laughlin) Higby. He graduated from Ripon High School and
later attended Ripon College. He served in the Army for four
years during WWII. Richard moved to Adams County in the
early 1960�s and made his home in Easton. He was an avid
tree planter and bird house builder, and shared them with
the community and Ripon College.
Richard enjoyed traveling all over
the world; he sponsored foreign exchange students for summer
jobs in Wisconsin Dells.
Richard was preceded in death by
his parents; son, Edward Higby; and four brothers.
