Bernard Lester Neilson, age
81, of Oxford, Wisconsin died Monday, May 31, 2010 at the
St. Clare Meadows Care Center in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Bernard was born November 2, 1928 in Oxford, Wisconsin to
Lester and Clara (Stalker) Neilson. He began his working
career at age 11, hauling milk for area farms. Bernard
worked for Speed Queen Corporation for 43 years, retiring in
1991. He then worked for Elliot Farms and Gary Bula
Corporation.
He married Margaret Phillips on January 17, 1944 in
Dubuque, Iowa. This began a journey of 66 years together.
Bernard pursued his love of horses, by raising, training,
and racing, thoroughbred horses. His greatest joy was
building special memories for his children, grandchildren,
and great-grandchildren.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents Lester and
Clara Neilson.
